Auto display not working on my note 8 since upgrade

Clock disappeared shortly after buying phone and just found out about upgrade and saw a utube video about it and how to get it back but cannot use always on display

Go to settings, Lock Screen and Security, go to Lock Screen and Always on Display and toggle on. Hope that is what you mean.
