Auto log in for voicemail

OK, there is already a voice mail speed dial loaded into the #1 position on this phone. Is there anyway to get a few pauses and then the voice mail pin to enter automatically or are we stuck with manually entering it every time? I know I can put it into another # position but I want in in #1 and having two voice mail speed dials just doesnt make sense.

Well, you can do it this way.. Create a new contact called Voicemail (or edit the existing one). Set your phone number as 1-111-111-1111,XXXX#

where XXXX = your password. Obviously put in your phone number, not 1-111-111-1111.

You need the comma and pound sign in there. The downside here is that anyone who looks at your voicemail contact can get your password.

You could try #86,XXXX as well, not sure if it works. The comma tells the phone to pause for a certain amount of time, so if one comma is too fast, you can use two.

My advice is to get Google Voice for VM. So much better and its free.

I tried to edit it but the phone wouldn't let me. Wouldn't let me.deleat it either. I know I can add another speed dial and set it up the way I want but I always set up my speed dials the same way on each phone and don't even have to think about what number to hold to call a certain person. I was really just wanting to keep everything the same old same old.

I have Google voice but I've just never gotten into it. I mostly use it as a number to give other then my home or cell and then if they keep calling I can block them.

Holy crap, I just set up Google Voice.. that's awesome. I had serious problems when I tried to bypass the full setup, and went with the "voicemail only" option, but after I re-did the full setup, it works great. So cool getting an email alert + text translation of the voicemail + audio straight to the phone.. All without dialing a single number.

I'm so behind on some of this stuff. That just made my night.
