i just got a thunderbolt after having a blackberry for 2 years and i'd like to have the phone automatically turn on in the morning.

on the blackberry the phone would auto turn on 2 min before the alarm went off to allow for the downloading of new emails.

i've looked for apps but couldn't find any.

Your T-bolt is always on unless you completely power it off, it's just going into lower power mode when you hit the power button. Just set your email syncing to occur as "push" or at particular times (depending on the mail you use there are different settings, I use Touchdown for my work email and can set my peak times where it's in full sync mode or a quick interval).
