Hi all,
New android user here with the Gnex...
Today my phone went dead due to out of battery (not surprising :))...when I plugged it in, the big white battery icon shows up indicating it is re-charging. However it appears the phone never turns back on even after it is done charging.

When I had my iphone, and I charge it after it has been completely drained, the phone will turn itself back on after it got 10 or 15% charge back. Is there a way to make the Gnex do something similar?

Thanks in advance!

Most phones don't do that. My Palm Pre phones did that and I hated it. Sometimes I prefer to keep my phone off for a while to charge it quicker. If not, I can turn it on myself.

I've never had a phone that does that. I think that the iphone for whatever reason seems to need to be powered up in order for the battery charge. I know that the ipod will do the same thing. But, if I physically turn the device off, and then plug it in, it will not charge. So, I think when the battery is at a certain level, it needs to be powered up in order for it to be charged fully. I personally do not like that.

Yea, my iPad does this. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. But to answer your question, the Galaxy Nexus doesn't do that. You're going to have to manually turn the phone back on. I would like it to turn on after being fully charged, but that seems unlikely to happen.

I would think a few seconds after you start charging you could immediately start up your phone without waiting. If that helps at all.

I'm glad my phone doesn't turn itself back on automatically. If I turn it off to charge I want it to stay off :)

Thanks everyone for the feedback. If I can just turn it on shortly after I plug it in, that would work for me. I just don't want to have to wait until the phone is charged before I can turn it on, as I may be missing important phone calls. :)

if you leave it off the whole time is there a way to tell when its done charging?

edit: figured it out, tap the power button
