I noticed that on the drop down settings menu that auto-sync option is not there. All my other android phones had it there. Is there a way to add it or some type of app/widget that doesn't drain the battery that would work?

During the day I can not have my phone on me so I put it in my locker. I usually put it airplane mode, and take auto sync off. This way it conserves battery life. Normally my battery is still at 100% when I leave work for the day. But with the auto-sync left on, it will drain my battery by sometimes 3%-4%.

I have tried using battery saver and data saver to see if those combined would work too. But no, it does not help. I have to take the auto sync off. And having to go into the settings search for it and toggle it on and off is a pain in the butt. Used to having it right in the drop down settings, and it made it nice.

Thanks!

Notification Toggle can do that, and doesn't contribute to battery drain.

EDIT: Scratch that -- the Sync toggle for Notification Toggle doesn't seem to work (at least, not on 8.1). I'll send the developer some feedback about that. Sorry!

Glad that app works for you! I got a quick response from the Notification Toggle developer, and he confirmed that the Sync toggle does work on 8.1. I rechecked my phone, and he is correct. It's just that the system toggle switch in Settings>Users doesn't immediately respond in real time -- but if I exit that menu, and then go back, the toggle switch is correctly turned on/off. So it's still a good option if you need one!

A friend pointed me to this app "quick settings"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.simonesestito.ntiles

It seems to work for the sync settings. I checked in settings where it's located and when it's selected on, it shows as being on in settings. Not sure how the battery drain will be. But will monitor it.

Not sure why it was left out which I think is a nougat issue.

That's a great app if you use quick settings a lot, it's fantastic. Glad you found it!
