My wife is a teacher so her phones ringer is off during school hours. The problem is that she forgets to turn it back on and when I need to get in touch, no dice. Is there a way to have the ringer auto turn off at say 7am and auto turn back on at 4:30pm? ummm, its a HTC One. Thanks!

I don't think there is a way to do that, I may be wrong though. What she could do is to set up an alarm to remind her to turn it back on. Name it "turn ringer on" and make sure in the alarm settings it's checked to sound alarm in silent mode. Hope this helps.

You can use automation apps like Automagic or Tasker to switch the ringer on and off during certain times. I use Automagic (seems to have a more intuitive interface) to control my ringer at work, also use it to switch off my wake up alarms at the weekend.

Get SilentTime.
Does exactly what you want. You can set up schedules any way you want for on/off times, 24/7
You can allow exceptions (certain callers) to ring through during "off" times.
Been using SilentTime for years, at night, to keep misdialed calls from waking me up.

SilentTime seems to be the thing. I will set it up tonight and let you know. Thanks for the responses.

Shush is good for this. When you put on vibrate or silent, it prompts you for how long.

Settings Profiles is similar to Tasker and you can set ringer volume by time of day.

Silent Time is better than HUSH.
You can schedule your ringer on/off. For work or sleep.
and You can set it off for an amount of time. Like during a 2 hour meeting.
