Autocorrect / spellcheck not working. Samsung tab a

[Android Central Question]

I have turned on auto check spelling and all other related options, and then called samsung support. They want me to wipe the device to see if that might fix it, as their troubleshooting didnt work. (They had me wipe cache etc...)
Sounds to me like it would be easier to buy a working device of another brand.
Anyone have any other ideas? Are other people able to get auto correct working on a tab a?

Is it the SM-T580 10.1 inches and you have Nougat ?
This autocorrent doesn't work with Nougat, you only option is downgrade to the latest Android 6.
Keep in mind, it won't let you downgrade to older builds of Android 6, don't try, only the latest one can use to downgrade.
If your tablet is from US, the latest PL4 from Cellular South is the only one you can downgrade

Keep in mind, tab A has different models and sizes ( 7,8, 9.7, 10.1 ), just say tab A you won't get fast and correct response.
