[Automated] Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.6.2 (Updated 12/29/12)

Re: [Automated] Wug's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit v1.3 (Updated 1/2

Wow this is not working for me. This makes me appreciate the lousy software Microsoft puts out.

Re: [Automated] Wug's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit v1.3 (Updated 1/2

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, here... I downloaded this "kit", and I clicked "Drivers" for it to download that. It installed fine. Then I plug my phone in, and click "Unlock". When it first asks you if you see a string of numbers, my phone shows up, so I choose the first option, but for the next part, my phone doesn't show up, and when I choose the option that corresponds to that, it says that my drivers aren't installed correctly. I'm confused...

I want to backup my device using Titanium backup before putting in a new ROM. Coming from fully stock, can I root first, download/run TB then unlock using this software?

Re: [Automated] Wug's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit v1.3 (Updated 1/2

Hey Wug,

I was hoping you could help me. I have the unlocked gsm version sold directly by google. I attempted to unlock the bootloader and root the phone using your toolkit but, when I unlock the bootloader it does't wipe the phone. I used root checker app from the market to verify root and it says that the phone is not rooted. I followed your steps 100% during the process and I was using v 1.3

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Wug,

Thank you! Your fantastic toolkit allowed this new Android user to unlock and root his new phone in less than an hour. No worries, no problems.

Kudos to you, sir.

Re: [Automated] Wug's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit v1.3 (Updated 1/2

Hey guys. Quick question - how long should it take for a 'complete' backup? And what will the phone display when i'm done?

Re: [Automated] Wug's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit v1.3 (Updated 1/2

Sorry, the context here is that the screen has still got the 'Full backup' screen with the text and password request on it.

The list of items below in white text (ie com.google.android.apps.genie.geniewidget) isn't changing very much. Is it the backup taking place correctly?

Re: [Automated] Wug's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit v1.3 (Updated 1/2

I'm having some trouble.

I was using Cyber Warrior's Guide located here but was getting an error message (I'm using Win8 - may or may not be the culprit).

So I thought I would try this method, but now I'm getting ANOTHER error message:

Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.

Android ADB Interface

The third-party INF does not contain digital signature information.

My only option is to go back a screen and select a different driver path (than the one supplied by the installation directions) or to close.

Any ideas?

Works good but I had to download and replace the su.zip from another source!

Re: [Automated] Wug's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit v1.3 (Updated 1/2

Does this tool kit work on a Mac?

Forgive me but I have been looking for the answer to this and it is a yes or no question.

Edit: tried to open file on a mac and the mac replied "cannot open a windows file " so I guess the answer is no.

what a bummer. i think i've made a terrible mistake. i decided to unroot my phone and flash stock on the phone. i didn't realize it would completely wipe out all of the stuff on my "sd card." i had a bunch of data backups, thinking they would be left untouched. however, i've lost everything. all of my folders are empty, and i've lost all of my pictures.

Re: [Automated] Wug's Galaxy Nexus Root Toolkit v1.3 (Updated 1/2

If you had google + installed it should have all of your pictures backup up on the Google servers..

Just wanting to say THANKS! Worked perfectly! Wow! Why did I wait 6 months to do this! (I guess I thought Verizon would update the OS quicker). Now off to backup and load roms! THANKS!

This is my first time rooting. Unlocked easily enough, but then ran into a problem Followed the instructions and selected "reboot" but the phone has been displaying only a top hat over a circle for the last hour. What's going on?

Edit: it wasn't in a loop, just hadn't initiated reboot. Played around until the back button was enabled and it suddenly booted.

This may have been covered.
Do I need Titanium back or a ROM manager if I am going to use WUG's tool kit?
Also can I use Redemtion ROM with this. New to rooting. never done it. Been researching it for about a month. Tired of waiting on VZ to update my phone.

I'm able to follow this up until it comes to the Drivers step in fastboot mode. It basically says it's configured but the most recent driver I have is dated AFTER the driver specified in the instructions. Is it because my phone is so new (out of the box yesterday).
