Is anyone Having troubles with windows crashing when plugging in your Galaxy nexus after applying windows patches this week? I'm guessing the driver we're using is the culprit?

As soon as I plugged in the phone I got the blue screen of death with something like

 NO MORE IRP STACK LOCATIONS

for an error.

It's worth noting with the phone still plugged in the system wouldn't boot and gave the same blue screen of death

This sounds specific to your windows machine. There is no reason I can think of that this should happen to you. That said, to try and fix it I would recommend booting your comp in safe mode and then using USBDeview to uninstall all associated gnex drivers. Then see if that actually stops the error on next normal boot. Then proceed to reconfigure your drivers. If for some reason this doesn't work, then its likely associated with a windows update to another one of your drivers. If the error is fixed and then reproducible with my instructions, then please let me know.

Hey I just rooted and I now can not change off of my live wall paper and I want to put a gallery pic and every time I do it says wallpaper applied but yet it doesn't actually change the wall paper help please its killing my battery really fast!!!!!

Im stuck on the "google" boot screen with the unlocked lock under it... Keeps flashing... Cant figure out how to stop it...

Anyone have an issue with it saying it wants to install drivers Android 1.0 but never being able to find and install the drivers. I downloaded the Samsung drivers and installed them but it is having an issue with the Android 1.0.

In the middle of this unlock/root process, my handset became stuck in the "start" screen.
I was in the middle of verifying driver installation and the android graphic had come up, but the unit could not be recognized by Windows as a Samsung unit. Windows now says that the device has malfunctioned, and I cannot restart the phone or get it recognized by the toolkit.
I realize now that my WCDMA handset is actually of the GSM variety and I had not selected "GSM"
How can I begin again or are there restorative steps to take now?

So I got through the unlock stage, and all the phone does is go to the google screen with the lock on the bottom and then vibrate go black and start at that same screen again. Wtf did I do help!

I used this toolkit to unlock and root. What must I do to be able to install 4.0.4 when I receive it ota?

I would like to update without having to wipe data and cache.

Looks like Sprint will be releasing the Galaxy Nexus soon - April 22 according to the couple leaked reports I've seen.

Probably a dumb question, but will this tool function the same for Sprint's version of the Nexus?

I'm sure this has been said multiple times before - but +1,000,000 - I'm a learner developer, so I understand how rooting etc. works and how to do it, but good God, having a Rootkit makes EVERYTHING so much easier

Ok, so after my above post - I've come home, downloaded it and realised that my PC is buggy as ! Every time I go to install the driver, it just gives me a Device Manager Error Code: 10 - Device Will Not Start. I'm going to try it on my work machine tomorrow and reformat my machine on the weekend for sure!!

Turns out - my personal machine is really bad! Plugged it into my work machine and it worked a treat - cheers Wug!

I am a noobie, got this to work one my 1st try. now the issue, which rom to get after I unlock and root. still need to do some reading on how to update the radio too.

Ok so I took the plunge, I was able to get it to unlock, reset up everything gmail, apps, etc. I than tried to root, choose the red recovery power button, tried to use the vol to locate the file, no luck, the phone froze. Than I got the dead droid with red ! was able to reboot and have my phone work. any ideas where I went wrong? The su.xip file is on the phone.

So for those who manually updated from Wug's (android 4.0.2) to the latest 4.0.4 release out there...could you give me a basic rundown of the steps you took?

- where's you grab 4.0.4?
- what did you do to update? (basic steps, or link to instructions)
