Automatic Goolge Sync

I've noticed that the Google sync for calendar, contacts, and Gmail completes quickly if I select Sync Now. However, I have noticed that when it automatically starts the sync, the contacts can take minutes to complete.

Does anyone know why the automatic sync would take longer?

Auto syncs are set to run in the background, as to use minimum cpu.

At least that makes sense to me XD

When it starts the sync on its own, the contacts sync takes minutes. When I force the sync from the Google section it is done rather quickly.

I also noticed that if I turn off all auto syncing (for all accounts) and then turn it back on, the google contacts portion takes minutes.

What I am trying to figure out is what is going on when the system auto starts the sync that is taking longer.
