Available June 4 for $199!

heres another question, im a day one pre adopter, my premier rebate doesnt happen until the 5th i wonder if they will let us have it the 4th so we can get it on launch?

Any of you guys with connects at Sprint, can you find out the following and post the answer please...

#1: On a family plan with 4 Evo phones, would it cost $40 extra per month that I am paying right now or only $10 extra? Is the $10 per plan or per phone?

#2: Same as #1 except the hotspot fee. Is it per plan, or per Evo? Would a family plan with 4 Evo phnes cost $120 per month to use hotspot?

#3: If I am not even in a 4G area, do I still have to pay that ridiculous extra fee?

#4: How does this affect the EPRP plans? What do those plans have to pay to get 4 Evo phones on a family plan?

right, it also says it add-on will apply, and doesn't say "will apply for 4G service", but thats just me...

Yeah, we could argue about what we both read into the semantics of the statement. I respect your interpretation/fear. I fear that too, but I hope that it is an true add-on and that 4G can be turned on or off, by Sprint, if the EVO owner doesn't get 4G or doesn't want to pay for it.

We'll find out soon.

that would make sense right? i think they did that with the pre too if you were within a couple days they went ahead and hooked you up

I was a pre adopter and my one year is in june. I called and they told me that as long as you went in the month the anniversary was in there would be no problem. I am going to pay the 449.00. This way I can have the full upgrade discount when the successor to EVO comes out. Looking on the net HTC plans to have a phone with a 240 hour battery life. So this would be a good choice for me.

i just picked up the incredible, the 4th i will still be in my trial period. i might just have to switch. 4g started where i live so i should have no problems getting it

Too soon... And bad news. It is mandatory. You read it right. According to the AndroidCentral guys at the event in NYC:

"OK. Sprint's backtracking on what it previously told us. $10 premium services fee is mandatory. Not optional. Sorry for the confusion."

1) only $10 per evo

2) yes

3) not sure, but i feel like this should be on the plan.

4) Plans stay the same, if you own an evo, you pay $10 for it, and additional $10 for every other evo. Thats it...

I think it is ridiculous for anyone who is not in a 4G coverage area to pay $10 extra for something you can not take full advantage of. I'm in Houston so I'll be getting the EVO ;o) but I would definitely have to think long and hard about getting it if I was not in a 4G area.

For those of you that are in a 4G area--stop complaining about the extra $10 bucks. It is a premium product. I have DSL through AT&T and they have various speed packages that you can buy--well if you want the top speed you pay more for that particular package (4G). When you go buy a car, you can get the base model (3G) or you can pay extra for the additional bells and whistles (4G). Its life guys...

I guess those with 1 year discount available wont be able to use it on this device.

Premier customers can upgrade every year at the lowest price. So the $199, after rebate, will apply.
Excellent thanks much for info.

I just spoke with SP CS and got my upgrade status moved from July 1st to EVO release day so I'm ready :D.

What if I just want the base model? I want the corvette but I don't need the V-8. 3g would suffice for me, I just want the phone!

That's the thing.. I'm suspecting that they either:

1) Don't have a way to cut off 4G service for a particular device. or

2) they know someone will come up with a hack that will allow 4G access even if they don't pay for it.
