So I ended up getting that $10 ebay battery kit that comes with two batteries and a wall charger. I was excited about the wall charger more than having two extra batteries to be honest. For those that may not know the Evo seems to have a problem when it charges. For some reason once the phone is fully charged, the phone starts using the battery for power even though it's still connected to the charger. It'll still show a green light, but in reality it's not fully charged because the phone is now using the battery for power. This explains why some people have noticed the battery charge drop as much as 10% sometimes more within only a few minutes of it being pulled from the charger. What I would do is "bump" charging which basically means you keep putting the phone on the charger, wait til it goes green, unplug it, wait a few minutes and put it back on the charger, wait a few minutes, pull it, then put it back on the charger so forth and so forth until you THINK the battery is at a full charge. It's really ****ing annoying. With the bump charge though I'd get over 12 hours of life still. WELL...

Last night I put the original battery in the wall charger and put one of the extra batteries in the phone for overnight. In the morning I put the original battery back in and I can't BELIEVE how drastic my battery life has improved. After 15 hours of medium-heavy use I STILL had 37% left!! There is no doubt in my mind I could have gotten to close to 20 hours. I have the grass live wallpaper, twitter updating every 5 minutes, tweeted about 15 times, received about 100 tweets (I follow a lot of people lol) went on facebook (not the app but the full web browser page) probably a total of an hour, browsed for about another hour or so on other websites, checked the engadget app about 10 times, used the huffington post app for about an hour, saw about 30 minutes worth of youtube videos, made and received a total of about 200 texts, made about 30 minutes of phone calls, used the Buzz Deck app for about half an hour, I have about 10 widgets, 6 of which are active and was on the market for about half an hour downloading new apps and updating current ones. I also have the GPS on, mobile network on, used wifi a few times, brightness on auto, and all the good stuf left on. No cheating by shutting all the useful stuff off. Of the 15 hrs 17min of up time, 9hrs 49min was awake. Everyone has their own idea of what heavy usage is but I would say that's at least medium-heavy closer to heavy. I ended up taking out the battery at 37% because I'm going to bed. I'm gonna be up early tomorrow so hopefully I'll be able to get the battery down to 5% by the end of the day. The best battery life I've gotten with the phone before was 18 hours and got it down to about 5%. I definitely didn't use the phone anywhere near what I did today. So hopefully this is a legit cure for the battery bug. I'll post the total time tomorrow. Hopefully I can get to the 20 hours.

Even after just one day I can honestly say this was the best $10 I've ever spent. Better than that hooker in NY that one time..

lol jk..

It's probably because it doesn't stop charging at 100% like when you charge the Evo.

As long as it doesn't break your Evo, it seems like a good deal.
Some people said that they stop working after a couple months. However, you still get your money's worth...

For the price I ordered 2 sets ... 1 for me and 1 for my friend ... I would have a total of 3 batteries and I figured I would use the the NON OEM for backup and when I charge the Original Battery on the wall charger to get a REAL full charge ... I dont see myself using them on an everyday basis so that should extend life span.

Guess, I'll be ordering my set too! Kinda curious to see what benefits actually do come from this

I didn't order that set but instead I went by my Sprint corporate store and they gave me 6 old Hero batteries they had in the back. I then ordered two Amzer spare battery chargers from Fommy for $10 total. Now my sister in law and myself are pretty much set to do whatever we want with our phones during the day and feel confident that we will have enough juice. :)

I'm telling you guys this is the best 10 bucks you'll ever spend lol. I've had my phone unplugged for 9hrs 14mns and I'm at 49%. Given how many tweets I had and how many times I tweeted during the World Cup I'm surprised it's not lower. It's great to have extra batteries just in case I ever decide to youtube for hours on end or watch a movie or something. But for me personally the best part of this kit was the wall charger. It's done wonders man. I'm enjoying my phone so much more now. woot

I use the stock battery charger plugged into the wall over night.... I am currently at 1 day 10 hours and 28 minutes and 13% remaining with light to medium use. The last time my EVO was on the charger was Friday night at 11pm until 9 Saturday morning..... It's been off ever since........ The ONLY change is I am using a Seidio 1750 mAh battery pack instead of the stock battery pack.... But most reports show it's probably closer to 1500 instead of 1750 mAh...

this is the first time I have tried to make it through a second day... Last night when I went to bed around Midnight I was reading 55% remaining and left it on and unplugged all night.... and it's just fine.

Before the 6/28 update (I updated on the 28th with no problem) I averaged 14 - 16 hours a day on what I consider Medium use (90 minutes of web browsing, 15 - 25 mintues of talk, 15 - 20 e-mails, 75 - 100 text messages, 10 - 20 e-mails coming in about 5 - 10 going out, 10 - 15 pictures, Facebook set to hourly update, weather set to 3 hour updates, e-mail on 1/2 hour update, brightness turned to medium, only WiFi and 4G turned off and screen time out set to 1 minute)

Since the update I am doing the same thing except I ended up turning my screen brightness back to high and after the same 14 - 16 hours instead of being below 15% I am averaging 50% remaining.......

How would it break the phone? Also, how would people know it would stop working after a couple months, the Evo has only been out for a month, haha?

Not trying to be a smartass, just curious.

I got the same results when charging my batteries separately with my Seidio charger

Well, this is the first battery thread I saw in the EVO forums and it happens to discuss how an external charger charges batteries better than our phones, so I'll post this here. I have a Droid Incredible and both devices are experiencing charging issues. I spoke to HTC and informed them of the problem the Incredible's and the EVO's have with charging of batteries fully, better chargeup with the phone powered off, and the fact that neither phone runs off of the external power when plugged in. They always run off the battery, except the charger fills the battery faster than it's being used, but when the phone "thinks" the battery is full, it cuts off the external power leaving the phone to run down the battery even though it's plugged in.

I know the above has been brought up by several people here, and on other forums, but was just recapping for those not familiar with it. I took the post I made here:

http://forum.androidcentral.com/droid-incredible/10871-all-about-incredible-batteries-replacements-charging-ect-70.html#post212857

I cleaned it up, and sent it on to Verizon. In that thread, go to the next page with Verizon's reply and my reply again to them. I have already called and emailed HTC about these issues and they said they're sending it to the engineers in Taiwan... The reason I'm posting this here is, maybe EVO owners can start emailing Sprint with these issues as well and try to get Sprint to pressure HTC into coming up with a fix. It couldn't hurt if we all start emailing our providers who collect our money monthly... Using them as a voice, HTC may be able to hear us better...

I also got the 2 batteries and charger for $10 last week and have seen the same improvements! charged my htc battery on the wall charger and got 16 hours of medium use during the day and then a couple hours of heavy use to finish off at the end of the day. I'm guessing I would have hit at least 18 hours if I wasn't trying to kill the battery off on purpose.

The extra batteries are nice too! I had one of the ebay batteries in my phone Saturday night and started watching the world cup on sprint tv over 4g Sunday since I wasn't around a tv and it killed what was left on my battery. so I popped in my htc battery and finished the game! Only thing the extra batteries and charger can't fix is who won the world cup :( lol
