Awesome Costco deal!!

I didn't say I got it at the same price. I said same package for the price. Still a good deal giving the fact it would be way over $400.00 if I didn't get the deal.

Battery Separately = $39.99
Vechicle Mount = $39.99
Desk Mount $39.99
USB Car Charge $14.99
Battery Charger $49.99

So yes, I got a great deal. Not costco great, but still great deal all of that for $350.00

Like I said in my post.. Good for you for negotiating the deal that you did. Some got stonewalled by VZW.. I meant it as a compliment...

So, what are Costco's policies (and why does no one seem to know for sure)?

1. How many months into your contract do you have to be to be eligible for upgrade pricing?
2. If you upgrade to the Bionic and in 60 days the Prime comes out and you want to exchange it, will they give it to you for the upgrade pricing, or will they charge you full retail?

1) 20, it says so in the contract I signed.
2) I don't know for sure, but somebody mentioned earlier that they refund you the price you paid, and you pay the price of the new phone w/2 year contract.

To answer your second question, you can ask them up front if they will honor the 90 day exchange policy. Every Costco will allow you to get the SAME phone within the 90 days, but as I so unfortunately found out today it varies from store to store if they will allow you to exchange for a DIFFERENT phone.

Hence why I am currently Bionic-less...

Count me among the stonewalled. I tried to be nice (I certainly started nice, I probably did get whiny), but the salesperson showed no interest in doing anything other than what the computer told her was ok. I understand it's her job to follow procedures x, y, z... but it's clear that some salespeople go above and beyond and try to do the best that they can to keep a customer happy. After saying "That's still way more than what I can get at costco, is there any way you can make up the difference?" five different ways, I gave up and left.

Anyone notice if costco was selling the phone for a cheaper price if you didn't want any of the accessories?

I have to be honest, I probably wouldn't have bought any of that stuff ...I'd rather just have the phone for a cheaper price.. (I wonder if we can ebay the accessories, haha)

My advice is to buy through Costco.com. They will absolutely exchange for a different phone. If your Costco kiosk won't swap out for the Bionic, you can call Wireless Advocates and make a kiosk complaint (kiosks are supposed to abide by WA online policies) and the district manager will get involved. I was told I could not exchange, then when the manager got involved, she said no problem. I just have to wait for more Bionics to come in. So I am calling every morning at opening and then have to haul a$$ down and pick it up. Hopefully by next Wednesday!!!

Just a heads up to you, I called the Costco in my area this morning to double check that they came in. I was told there were 4 left, and even if I missed out on this batch they were scheduled to get more on Saturday. YMMV per Costco as to when they get in, but if yours is like mine your wait might not actually be that long.

If anyone in the area would like to chat with my sales guy that hooked me up (CHINO HILL, CA)

909-703-0835 David Moet

I think after tax, fees, and all the crap together, I walk out the door @ approx $415.00

I did and was able to keep my unlimited data plan I had originally @ 29.99

He was very helpful. He originally quoted higher and I ask him if he could work with me on better deal since I been with VZW for over 15 years. He went to his mgr and came back with a better deal. I might end up returning the extra battery and battery charger, I have no need for it. haahah.

So I just called my local Costco and they told me they got 10 in this morning. I explain my situation (Currently on my second Charge, first one was a lemon and the fact that my current Charge works until you do something more than text or browser the internet) They are like ok just come on in and we'll work it out. The guy at the kiosk tells me I can't return my phone I can only get another Charge through manufactures warranty. So I asked why there is a 90 day return policy, he says I can get my money back but I wouldn't be able to get the Bionic on contract. Never buying a phone through them again.

I guess I've been lucky both with ordering the charge and the bionic with *611. Both times I got free month credits and some other promotions. Charge cost me around $ 150 and ordered the bionic for $79 with NE2 and free month credit of $120. Both times I reached the South Carolina call center so I don't know if that makes a difference

Please try calling * 611. I asked if there were any promotions. At first the rep said no. I said ok well if I've got to pay full price, I'll just wait and try to get it from Costco. She asked me to hold on and then came back and offered me a month free. With my NE2 & free month it = $220 plus she said she was going to throw in another card. Got the phone for basically $80. I'm waiting for the shipment now. The email said it was on the Fed ex truck.

So strage that different stores try to look at this policy differently. I took my Charge back and returned it yesterday after having it for 67 days. Got the Bionic for the 2 year pricing.

If I were you I would speak to the Costco Management at your store. After the Kiosk told me their policy on returns I thought it was to good to be true so I confirmed it with the Costco support desk. They told me the 90 day return policy is part of the contract that Wireless Advisors has with Costco. I bet after speaking to a Costco employee you won't have any issues with your return.

Just called my store and they said they got more in today and have 7 in stock right now. I will be heading over there in a couple minutes. I hope they don't give me any issues about returning the charge. I did just realize that I forgot the car charger they gave me with it in my other car. I don't think they will take it back without that though.

I just got back from getting mine from Costco. The 4 around me all got 7 more today. The sales rep told me yesterday they weren't getting them until the 15-16th. But I read on here that some got them and decided to call. Glad I did, I've never had a driod and was really impressed with the car dock and the DB's ability to read the text messages out loud while driving home!!! So far, pretty impressed.

I really should have but the attitude from the guys at the kiosk really threw me off. They said that I could return the phone but I wouldn't be able to get another phone for the contract price. He claimed because it was my second Charge the return policy didn't apply. Then went on about how they both have Charge's and they are great. I think I'll go back this weekend when I have plenty of time to get management involved.

Edit: Just called Costco returns, they are saying that there is a 30 day return policy on cellphones, yet my receipt states that there is a 90 day return policy on all electronics including cell phones, and the gentleman I talked to while buying my Charge two months ago also said it is a 90 day policy.

See that irks me, I would go right over there. On the reciept and the contract you signed when you bought the phone it indicates there is a 90 day return policy. My opinion don't give up, talk to a manager, show him the reciept and contract and tell him that the sales rep told you 90 days when you bought it. Just straight up ask him did you change your policy since I started my contract?

My Costco receipt says 90 days, however, the contract I signed for Verizon states a 14 day return policy.

All of the costcos around me (5 of them) have a sign posted that says ".....90 day return policy....." I would go in and complain. The 14 day contract is for the service..not the phone. You can only cancel your service before the 15th day, but you can exchange a phone up to 90 days.
