Axon 7 Mini Battery Life Advice

My friend just got this phone and it seems to be Draining battery pretty fast. What's the average battery life you guys are getting out of he mini? I have the regular axon and I think it does ok but I know the mini has a smaller battery and lower speed processor. Is there anything that can be done to help the battery life last a bit longer?

We've cut off sync, went through power manager to limit some apps. Any suggestions?

It'd help to see some battery stats from your friend, since his use won't be exactly the same as yours. For example, he might be in an area of worse cell signal, which can kill battery.

Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:


1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).


You might have to install a 3rd party battery monitor, like GSam Battery Monitor, to get the Cell Signal Strength graph.

Can you show more of the screenshots I had recommended? It helps to see more information. The main thing I can see right now is that there's a lot of yellow in the cell signal strength, which is mediocre -- that can increase battery usage. There's also a lot of Awake time, so that might indicate some app that's inappropriately keeping the phone awake (although this can be hard to pinpoint).

It's definitely helpful to install Juice Defender which you can customize the settings from balanced to aggressive. I've used it for years with my Galaxy S3 and it works pretty well. I'm hunting for a replacement and have been watching both the Mini and the larger Axon 7 on Ebay. Curious how everyone feels about their Mini in this forum.

Thanks..after looking at reviews of the Mini its obvious what you say is the right choice. I found an Axon 7 today on Ebay that's a mfg warranty replacement and never been used..gonna try to snag it for $150-$160.
