Axon 7, or 6P?

I know this is the 6P thread, but I figured I'd ask for honest opinions. Is it a good idea to sell the Nexus 6P (32 GB Aluminum) for a 64 GB ZTE Axon 7? I realize we're about to get Nougat, but the SD 820 and those awesome speakers are really tempting. I realize I'd have to deal with ZTE's skin and a 200 mAh smaller battery, but the Axon 7 also has capacitive buttons, which I prefer to on screen ones. I'd really hate it if ZTE ends up making the next Nexus (after this year), but I also realize that's a long way off in the future. I've loved my 6P, but for the price of $400, that Axon 7 is a hell of a phone, especially with that dual sound chip audio, and the rest of its features. Thoughts?

I'd wait for reviews first before you dive head long into it. Specs on a sheet doesn't mean much if the overall execution ends up being poor. On paper though it seems compelling.

As said above always wait for the reviews with the people who dive in head first to anything new and let them try it out

Its rewarding to be the smart consumer because a picture or spec sheet can speak a thousand words or talk the talk but can it walk the walk and live up to its hype?

Being a avid video gamer I used to buy games as soon as they came out but now I wait a few months because they aren't what they promised or lack of developer backbone and support

The 6P is a great phone I wouldn't trade it in for what already works great for something that is a shot in the dark..for now :)

Cheers

I just bought the Nexus 6p and was considering the ZTE Axon 7 as well as other phones. But what finally pushed me to the Nexus was firmware updates. I've had Samsung, Motorola, ZTE and more but lack of updates or unbearably long waits for updates drove me crazy. Of course the ideas of others to wait for real life reviews makes a lot of sense.

Depends on what you need the device to do: coming from Big Red one of the obvious limitations of almost every device out there is the lack of support for CDMA, or on the flip side being locked to Verizon - both have their downsides if you're looking to keep your options open. For me one of the devices that solved that dilemma was the 6P.

If the Axon meets your current carrier criteria, and has a likely firmware/security update path, then it's worth giving a try (particularly if you can afford to keep the 6P as a backup).

If I owned a 6P, I'd stick with the 6P in order to have access to the developer previews for Android O next year. (That's why I'm still considering picking up a 6P some time this winter.) But definitely wait for the in-depth reviews of the A7 to pile up first.

I'll sell you my 6p! I have no use for it.
