I will release an update soon to have the adapted design for square shape. For now, it will be displayed as on the round one, with a full square background.

I did not forget you

Just to let you know that I released an update that should fix your request, I adapted the design for square watches, and added some granularity in the elements to be displayed in ambient mode.
You should be able to get it within a few hours, depending on Google's deployment duration.
