Back cover needs its own thread

but I found an easy way to open it, even though the online manual says not to pry the microusb port, you can try to be careful and only pry off the cover part of the micro usb port and then it easily opens the rest of the cover

Welcome to Android Central! I thought about that, but then I imagined myself accidentally bending the port out of position, and instead went back to work on the notch.:-\

Mine was very stiff at the start but now after 2 months it is now much easier and quicker to remove. This is not a problem to me because like someone else said I would rather it like this than loose to start

Mine is really stuck as well....very odd issue to have. I am going to need a tool to do it so I can actually put my case on...
oh..

and my sim card

Mine is pretty easy. I pull at the notch toward the cover side. Once it separates a little, I slide my nail in the seam toward the volume buttons. Once I get about halfway there, there is another clasp that releases. Once it does, case comes right off.

I found it to be an impossible task to remove the back cover until I read several of the responses on this forum. After I struggled with trying to destroy my fingernails, I decided to try a dull, rounded kitchen device, with no avail. I gave up so that I would not damage the finish of the cover or phone. I tried using my fingers again, but this time pressing lightly on the crown of the back cover and the cover popped off easily.

Use a credit card at the notch. If Canadian and have the War Amps plastic key tag its even better as its thinner than a credit card. As it spreads slightly slide the card along the crack until you can get finger grip to keep opening.

When I bought my ZE555ML in Hong Kong back in April last, I had never heard anything about the phone. I bought it in Sham Shui Po
market ( the ONE to visit in HK).
The young assistant spoke no English, but happily opened the shrink wrap from the box, opened the phone back and fitted my sim card fitted really quickly I noted she just used her finger nails to "unzip" it.
Of course when I tried later on I really struggled to snap it off. It has become slightly easier now, but still tricky to remove.

Guys, the easiest way to open the back cover is to start opening from the bottom point, from where you put in the usb cable. Start pulling the cover aside from there and slowly slide in your fingertip and start moving all the way up.
