Back to my iPhone 5s :/

The htc build quality is good. But one drop and it got all scratched up. The volume buttons were loose and the tiny screen real estate was not what I thought it would be. I went back to my 5s. The screen is only a little smaller and the phone is way smaller. It just seems so disproportionate. I really wanted to like it too. Dang.

The screen was to small for you so you're going back to an iPhone..?

Tiny screen real estate? Its an inch larger than the iPhone, so not exactly how its almost the same. I understand to each their own, but it almost just seems like you never wanted the phone in the first place. And any metal phone you drop once and it will be scratched lol

That one inch makes the screen about 6/7" taller and 1/2" wider, contain 35% more pixels and yield approximately 56% more area. Another way of stating it is that the screen on the 5s is less than 2/3 of the size of the M8.

I know the love of iOS. I tend to defend it when the blind fanboys / apple haters post inaccurate info about the phone.
The M8 and S5 are hard phones to switch to if you like iOS. I know, I have tried every phone on the planet ( /s )
I love iOS, but I truly Hate the tiny 4" screen. I will disagree that its "not much difference"

I will be one of those the return to iOS when the 4.7 or 5.5" iPhone 6 hits. but for now, you couldn't pay me to use an iPhone 5s.
The Moto x IS the iPhone of the android world. Sooooooooooo comfortable, 4.7" screen, hands free goodies, smooth, fast, and NO TOUCHWIZ or sense 5 or 6 or whatever number HTC is up to now.
Of course the X+1 is due out soon (tm), so holding off and seeing it and the G3 might be a good idea.
After trying many android and Windows phones and going back to iPhone more times than I can count, I have finally settled down with the LG G2 and its awesome.
It's 5.2" screen but nearly no bezel at all, and its gently curved on the back and it makes it feel like a dream in the hand.
I don't use cases at all, but I watched a co worker miss his pocket and dropped his iPhone 5s from 30" off the ground and it too got spurs and mangled the aluminum pretty badly.

I love switching and trying every phone I can, but even I didn't bother with the M8 after seeing it in person, and I fell in hate with touchwiz after owning a few android phones without it. so that makes the S5 a non-option for me as well.
LG has become my favorite OS that isn't Pure android like Nexus and Moto x (moto x is 99% pure android, with 1% additional awesome)

Enjoy the iPhone, it's a great device. Android isn't for everyone, just like Blackberry and Windows Phone. No harm in switching phones to find one that fits your needs and wants.

Get the Moto X :D

Been there broke that. Thinking about trying out a BlackBerry or Windows Phone now. I might get the BlackBerry because I could use the majority of the apps I use now.

I have the HTC One M7 2/3 time with case and 1/3 time without and I don't have burrs' scratches or discoloration. Maybe it's not the aluminum but the user.

The burr in my 5s occurred while in an Otter Box Defender case. I have never dropped it either. It shocked me half to death when I pulled it out of the case to clean it. I used this phone for maybe three weeks...

My Note 3 has never had a case, nor a screen protector. I've had it way longer and yet there isn't a blemish to be found...

I'm using a Z10. Besides battery life, it's superb. I like it. The Z30 is a bit bigger and the screen resolution is lower but it's got a monster battery life.

As for Windows Phone, it's okay. I've got a Lumia 810. I use it sometimes but I guess I just never did take to that OS.

I am thinking of grabbing a Q10. I wouldn't mind a keyboard phone especially since I do most of my entertainment on my laptop. I use my phone for email, docs, news and web browsing. So I think the Q10 will work fine for me.

Sense 6 really is a thing of beauty in my opinion.

I agree! Sense 6 is a BAMF OS skin! I had the M7 Google Play Edition before and I miss vanilla Android a little. The features of Sense are minimal and very functional! With the addition of Venom Tweaks from the ViperOne Rom, this phone is a dream come true. It's all about taste though. Some people like red heads, some like blondes or brunettes. I'm a guy so, any ladies on the forum, you can use your own metaphor!

I say each to their own. That's why companies and manufactures have return policies. I'm still working on my week plan with the HTC One M8. If by Tuesday I'm not really wowed, it will be returned to AT&T. And believe me, I've tested hundreds of devices in the past 20 years :)

The M8 is nice, slightly a little large for me. Albeit that might be because I've been using a BlackBerry Z10 for so long. Now, the slippery part of it, that is a pain, period!?!

The slippery part is a pain!! I dropped mine before I even got the SIM card in it. Good thing it was on carpet!

You sound just like me :) I too have had every phone and gone back to iPhone more times than I can count.
