back-up everything on droid?

soon i'll be switching from my droid to the droid X so is there a way i can back up everything on my droid to my laptop so i can upload it to my droid x later? thanks in advanced

If you're just wanting to back up apps, "App Brain" is a good choice and available for free in the market.
If you're wating to save emails, texts, etc... "My Backup" should do the trick for you.

I was told by the VZW Rep that all I had to do was bring in my Droid X when I get it and they can switch everything over. Not just the contacts using cellbright but all my paid and free apps.
