Background changes to default

I've had my HTC One x for about a year. Whenever it hasn't rebooted in a while (a week or two), transitions back to the home screen get really slow. It happens mostly when I'm coming from Chrome or Tumblr. This seems to be a relatively common problem with this phone, and it doesn't really bother me. However, it recently had a really slow transition, and when it finally loaded, the background had changed back to the default. I changed it back to the one I had before (stock live wallpaper), but a couple hours later, it was slow again, and then loaded a completely black background. That time I left it, and after a little while it changed itself back. Later, it went back to the default again. I eventually restarted, and it's fine now, but I think this will start to happen again. Is this happening to anyone else, and does anyone know a fix?
