Background Noise When Recording Video

Does anyone else have this problem? I seem to have a lot of background noise in videos. Its kind of a high pitched sound and there are clicks. I googled the problem and what I found was some people noticed an issue when wifi was turned on it caused the clicks. Do you think at this point I should try and return exchange the phone?

I turned the wifi off and the clicks mostly went away. But I recorded some video in a quiet room and there's a constant high pitched background noise still. I am using the stock LG camera app. Should I use another app?

I've had the phone a year and never really noticed it because I did a few videos in noisy environments. But most recently I tried to record my cat purring and the background sound is louder than the cat!

Update: I can confirm that the noise is ONLY with the native LG camera app. I installed Open Camera and the only noise is ambient (much less) when I play two videos back to back the one from the LG app definitely has more noise. But I wonder if this is normal for LG or is only my device?

Yeah- I have the same issue. It's a high pitched sound. It doesn't happen all the time- but it happens enough. Maybe try a reboot and see if the issue is still there (I think that fixed it for me before). It's ridiculous to have to test the video and then reboot it if necessary to get it to work right. The wifi being on or off doesn't make a difference. I really hate this phone- it runs hot and burns through the battery sometimes. On paper it sounds great, but it's really not. My 9 year old daughter has the LG G2, which seems like a better phone to me. It's like LG up'd the specs to compete with Samsung, but they have severe quality control issues. I've already sent a G4 back for motherboard replacement. The one I had before also had the same intermittant video high pitched noise problem. I'm going back to HTC with my next phone- way better build and software. Funny thing is that it runs slightly worse on Android 6 than it did Android 5. My experience with dozens of Android devices is that they always run better on their original OS, because I think the initial drivers were optimized better for that OS. I have updated tablets and phones with new roms, and while an updated OS might give you new functionality, I seriously believe you take a performance hit to some extent.

Well my phone still had a week left of warranty so I sent it in to LG and they quickly fixed it. Replaced the mainboard which is pretty much the guts of the phone. The high pitched noise is gone now. I do have a little clicking sound that goes away if I turn off wifi and data while recording though.
