I would like to find a backup program for my Epic that would also backup all the apps and contacts...txt..etc...so that when I went to update my market apps I could still see what needs updating...alot of backup apps wont do this...Can anyone reccomend a good and simple easy to use... one that would do just this.

If your rooted then you have options. MyBackup Root or Titanium Backup. Both provide full backup of everything or individual selections.

If your not rooted then your options are limited. You can use SMS Backup and Restore from the Market to handle your texts which does a very good job of it. Saves them to your sdcard.

As far as contacts, those are linked to your Google account or you can export your contacts list to your sdcard or file to import into another email client or programs. App backup without root is almost non existant.

Does File Expert need root to back up your apps?
I didn't have that app until I was rooted so I wasn't sure if that was a requirement for that option.
But that option is there in File Expert :p

Between MyBackup and Titanium, which is better? Haven't tried MyBackup yet, but Titanium has been a litte buggy for me and doesn't seem to back up everything.

I personally like MyBackUp Root for handling my app backups. Seems to do a great job and its basically a 2 click process. Select backup, and check all apps... Now its only going to backup apps you have downloaded, not going to go in and backup system apps/Google/Sprint/Samsung apps.

Data backups I've had mixed reviews on both Titanium and MyBackup. Seems like for things like Angry Birds, Titanium is the way to go...

I usually end up using a little of both, but for reinstalling all my apps quickly after flashing a new ROM I will go and use MyBackup Root to restore my apps.

I found GO SMS to also be an easy way to backup your texts.

For Google to save your contacts you have to enter them to your Google account, if you saved them to your phone they can be lost.
