Backup assistant

So I went to verizonwireless.com/backupassistant and synced my phone and I can't get my contacts yo show... they are royally screwed up can I complete erase them? Is this a google operation or Verizon.... Very frustrating any help is appreciated.

Was this with a new phone? I used BA on my previous phone, and, when I went to my new phone, the only contact that synced was my number. Haha. I gave up on BA and will count on Google to take care of my contacts from now on. If that doesn't work when I get a new phone, I'll figure something else out. But, BA failing me once was enough for me.
