If Google Keep doesn't get backed up to Drive, how do I backup the files in google keep? Thanks.

Google Keep is a web-based tool. If you go to https://keep.google.com and sign in with your account you should see everything.

Hint: there's also a Chrome add-in for Keep, as long as you log in to Chrome using the same account...

Keep is technically part of the Google Drive suite, so whatever you enter into Keep will get automatically synced to the cloud. Nothing to worry about there!

Wonderful. I've seen Sheets, docs in drive but nothing that looks like Keep Files. If for some strange reason I lose those files, how would I go about retrieving them? Thanks.

Keep has a Trash folder that keeps deleted items for 7 days before they're gone forever. If you don't get to it in time, then it's irretrievable.

That's my dilemma. I store lots of useful info in Keep that I refer to often. Irs searchable and quick. If there is not an easy way to recover those items, I was considering another recoverable app to use instead of KEEP. If I decide to go another way, do you have any suggestions?

So, you're looking for an app that has a trash bin that never actually empties?

My point is that most apps will assume that if you delete something you wanted it gone. Maybe your better option when you're done with an item is to archive instead of delete? Google Keep has that option. The trash is not a storage location, it's there in case you accidentally deleted something and want to go get it back quickly.

Actually, what I'm trying to do is if, for some reason, I lose KEEP, that I would be able to recover it. My Sheets and Docs are also in DRIVE. It looks like I have to go to the Web and somehow recover from there if it's still available. I know I'm paranoid about this, but I lost some of my SHEETS a while ago. I still don't know what happened to them.

There would be no reason for you to lose your Google Keep information as long as you maintain your Google account that it's associated with. The only way you would lose the information is if you deleted one of the records (either on purpose or by accident, in which case it would still be retrievable from Trash for 7 days) or if there were some major Google server glitch (which would be extremely rare, and besides, Google has multiple redundancies, so actual data loss would probably be virtually impossible).
