I love my phone. LTE, unlimited data, crappy battery. The speeds on my phone are phenomenal. It beats Verizons LTE speeds in my area and I haven't ever been throttled for going over my "limit". The only thing that limited the way I use my phone is the garbage battery life. I had a Samsung infuse but my wife has kinda taken it over so I'm looking for a cheap phone to use when the other is charging and also to change things up a bit. Something I can get for under $100 U.S. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Does it have to be a smartphone?

If it was me I'd get a Palm Pre+. They are cheap! You can still get about 8 hours of battery life out of them! Plus its a change from Android. So it can seem like new every time you use the other phone!

That is what I would do.

I've hated the palm company since the days of the treo. I'm honestly thinking about getting another iPhone 4. I get tired of Android, and ios is the only other capable OS there is. (By capable I mean ones that cater to everything I need a smartphone for.)

You want to buy a phone to use while your other phone charges? Seems like a waste of money.

Android just doesn't offer as good of an ecosystem as other companies (bring on the hate). I'd like to be able to switch between devices and not have to worry if everything is there or not. I'll always keep an android but I think the days of having one as a daily driver are numbered. I miss having an ecosystem.

Before you hate: I'm not an idiot and know what I'm getting in to here. I love both OS's and am always excited to see the new things they are both doing.

Not hating, just curious - what is missing from the ecosystem that you'd like to see there? My email, contacts, calendar, music, pictures, apps (though not app settings, granted), etc all move seamlessly around the Google ecosystem and I can create and produce any of them on any device and have it available everywhere else pretty quickly. Maybe I'm missing some major integration point that some other platform provides?

Things like messages photo sharing and the ability to have my newly purchased songs and apps on all my devices without having to manually push such things. Google only offers song purchases in the cloud until you manually download to your computer and then side load it to your SD card. I'd like to be able to cut out the "middle man" when I take a picture on my phone. No third party applications can offer the stability of having that built straight into the os.

Under $100? HTC Arias on eBay go for that. It's my sad, sad little backup phone. But it has ICS :)
