backup pin for fingerprint?

I just decided to use the fingerprint scanner and it didn't let me make a backup password.. how can i make one?

It should automatically require you to make a backup password when using fingerprint

It never did unless i made one a while back. Is there anyway to change it?

Yes, under settings - lock screen and security - fingerprint - change backup password.

Don't forget it. I had a smudged fingerprint scanner that required me to use the backup password and I had forgotten it. My phone then did a factory wipe... ugh . what a pain. Add two step google verification to that mess and it adds up to one ****ty afternoon.
