I want to install custom rom on my device but since I am new to android, i decided to get help from experienced users. They instructed me to Install cwm recovery from google play store. I followed the instructions. I searched "Clock work mod recovery" on playstore and i found ROM Manager free and pro by Clock Work Mod and bunch of other few apps. I Installed ROM Manager free and ran it. It says to choose custom recovery to get started.

I choosed Clockworkmod Recovery and it reports an error. "Error downloading from Server. Make sure you have stable internet connection and that your SD card is inserted and has free space."
Well, I am connected to Wifi Network and SD Card is inserted with 95% free space. Some body help me to solve this issue.plz..

If anyone knows the answer to this I also have the same problem with a chinese softwinerevb (allwinner a13) tablet, insisting that it has the same error message.

You need a recovery developed for your device. I did a quick search and couldn't find anything worth sharing. Search "mmx a54 root xda" and search the results that come up. I came across a thread talking about root and getting a flashable cwm recovery. See where that leads you and ask lots of questions. Don't flash anything not made for your device or you'll brick it.
