if i backup my apps using astro and then i factory hard reset my phone, how do i retreive? if i wipe the phone, even astro will get deleted, so i dunno how to get my apps back...

IIRC, Astro backups are stored on the SD Card, so they should be safe when you do a reset. OTOH, I copy my SD card to my PC before I reset, just in case...

The easiest way to recover your apps would be to simply go into the Android market and download Astro again and use that to install the other apps you've backed up.

I'm usually more worried that I have all my data backed up - there are only a couple of apps I have that aren't still in the market.

gotcha. so it saves to the sd card ... if i wipe the phone, reinstall astro, it will pull all my apps off the sd card automatically? i worry that for some reason that there will be some inability of the new install of astro to communicate with the older backup...

Automatically, I doubt. You'll probably have to install each one from the backup individually.

I'd check astro's website for their instructions on how to do a backup/reset/restore.

if i remember correctly, you can browse the list of apps that you saved via astro, check mark them, hit the restore button and that's all.

it doesn't take very long, but you may have to update apps from the last time it was backed up (of course).
