Backup with kies

Before I upgrade to lollipop, I want to make a backup. Could someone please explain to me how to use Kies to do that. Thanks

Connect the phone to the computer. Run Kies. Click on the Back up/Restore tab. Select what you want backed up. Click on the Backup button.

To restore, click on the Restore tab (on the left). Choose the backup folder. Click the Restore button.

My computer is used by my wife. If I go near it,, she freaks out. How can I do this with just my smartphone. Thanks.

You can't use Kies then - it requires a computer. Try Backup Pro. It will backup to your SD card.
