Bad autocorrect for words with apostrophes

S5, US, Verizon unmodified in anyway

Whenever I type a word with an apostrophe (I'll, we'll, Don't etc) the regular on board keyboard corrects it to something like I'I'll we'we'll and don'don't every time. I have, when I've noticed the suggestion appear, attempted to delete these words from the user dictionary but they keep coming back. I can't even find access to the entire user dictionary to delete there, just the suggestion bar.

It's very annoying as I keep getting doubled words when typing fast. Anyone know a fix? It's only happening on apostrophe words and I never "taught" those words to my phone.

It's like it is trying to correct by replacing the correct word's last letter with the entire word.

I have this exact same issue with my Galaxy S5 as well, also Verizon. Doubles every word when I type " 's " and hit space. Did you every find a solution?

Learned a little more which may be of use to you. I thought it could have been an issue with Swipe as I keep Swipe disabled but it also turns itself back on somehow. After turning the Swipe application itself off I ruled that out. I found though that when you type an apostrophe quickly followed by a letter and the space bar the word is duplicated, however if you pause for a second after typing the apostrophe then the word will not be duplicated when you press space. It's very odd, definitely a bug in auto correct. Makes sense that it only happens when you're typing fast.

My Verizon Samsung GS5 does this, too, ever since I got it September. As you say, it only seems to happen when I'm typing quickly, and I hadn't noticed it's correlation with apostrophes, but that does make sense. I always suspected that it was just that, typing quickly, and the keyboard not being very snappy, that I was just overrunning it's ability to take in input and do its autocorrect checks in time. Apostrophes being involved makes sense, because, the darned autocorrect pretty much always gets tripped up by apostrophes--as if the autocorrect was never programmed to recognize that they are often used in the English language. It even usually tries to add an extra space before and after apostrophes. Ridiculous, that.

Anyway, I just did the update to Lollipop a couple of days ago, and I haven't seen it since, and the keyboard does overall seem more snappy, so maybe that'll do it...

Has anyone found a solution for this? It is incredibly annoying. I have an S4 running Lollipop

Just wanted to post a fix as this was driving me crazy and Samsung basically told me to go pound sand when I reported the issue on my S6 (thanks Samsung, guess I will be rethinking my loyalty). They refused to even let me send them a 600kb video of the issue. If you turn off "Auto Replace" under the keyboard settings the issue is resolved. For very fast typers it seems that even though you type the word correctly for split second it leaves the Auto Replace word up so when you hit space bar it doubles the word.

Guess I should have stuck with the masses and bought an iPhone. At least Apple gives a crap.
