Is it weird that i have been getting poor battery life on mu note 5 for the last month? I only get like 3 hours max of SOT. I disabled a lot of bloatware and before the last 30days, the battery life was excellent. Any ideas? Android Os Consistently tops the battery usage.

I'm on T-Mobile and I got an update about 2 weeks ago and ever since I've noticed my battery life is quite a bit worse. I take my phone off the charger around 6:30 am and put it back on around 9pm, prior to the update I would have around 40% left, now I find I'm down to 20% by 6:30 pm with the same amount of usage as prior to the update.

After the July security update, my AT&T Note 5 battery life was awful. My battery was dropping 10-15%/hour with light usage.

I did a factory reset and have not had the time to go through and disable the apps and bloat yet and I am in the 3-5%/hour depending on usage right now.

My biggest gripe with my note 5, which I loved, was the battery. I would be down 7-8 percent an hour with no usage. And yes I factory reset twice and received the same results. I got accustomed to having it plugged in all the time. I hope the note 7 improves this.

It is not the phone. Something is wrong.

It's not the phone. I use the Note 5 hard and the battery goes down with use.

When idle and not being used, it barely drops any percent.

Youve got something going on, a rogue app, a corrupt setting... good luck finding the cause!

I was getting terrible battery life too but it seems like it has fixed itself the past couple of days. Maybe it was the Kik app I used, not sure but I'm pleased now.

I agree as I have always had great battery life with my Note 5. A few of my friends who also own one also share my experience

Same problem here. Battery dies rapidly while idling. Don't know how to make sense of battery stats. Maybe someone can offer some insights.

That looks OK. 37% remaining after nearly 11 hours since plugged into power. Battery life can be influenced by so many variables like cell signal strength, screen brightness level, screen on time, etc.

Ya but look at my screen on time...

I wonder if it's the finger printer scanner that's causing the drain? I had a Note 5 and sold it because of poor battery life. I just got a used Galaxy S6 (got it really cheap) and using it without the finger print scanner. So far the battery life has been better than expected, especially on idle. I'm thinking of buying the Note 5 again and use it without the finger print scanner to see if that makes a difference.

My Note 5 is rooted again because that is the only way that I could get good battery life. I tried going back to stock a few weeks ago and the bad battery life came back. I didn't even have any apps installed on the phone and the phone would go from 100% to about 30% in 8 hrs with no usage.

It wasn't always that bad either. When I first bought the phone it was good and so I waited a few weeks to make sure the phone was working correctly before I rooted it. Every time I would try and go back to stock, the bad battery life came back.

Now I am running a debloated ROM on my Note 5 and the battery life is just insane. Missing the updates is not as important as being able to use the phone.

Not sure what is going on with some of the Note 5s. I can use mine as a WiFi only device and take it off charger at 0530 when its at 100%, and return from work in the evening and battery level has only gone down a few %. When used as a phone, its off charger around 0530 at 100%, and back on charger at 2200-2230 at 35-60% - depending upon screen on time during the day, usage pattern, and cell signal strength.

GSam Battery Monitor says that WiFi Active drained 44% of my battery. That is 12% more than the screen. My battery life sucks with the Note 5.

Mine's been ok But last night I went to bed around 2 a.m. @ 100% woke up at 12 p.m. with 24% and it's drained all day will not charge at all any ideas what it could be the worst thing is I don't have anything on my phone backed up to the cloud. I'm going to let it charge for a couple of days and see what happens I've already called and got a replacement coming suppose to be here Tuesday

Mine started losing battery fast after last update as well. Also can no longer stop overlay writing... Whatever that means! So now I can no longer use apps that need permission to use camera, photos etc. 2nd level tech from Verizon had no clue. Told me to reset device! Told him I would hit it with a hammer first!! Come on note 7. Sometimes I think these updates screw our phones up to make us get a new phone! Rant over
