The battery on my droid is abysmal. I unplug the phone from the charge at around 9 everyday. It's dead by 3. I get roughly 6 hrs tops. I mainly only use txts, barely any calls, little browsing and that's mainly it. it's been this way since I first bought it. Can it be a certain app that's draining my phone or do I just have a bad battery? I never saw a change in battery life after the first 2 weeks.

Do you have your screen brightness turned down? It helped me alot. Make sure to turn off Wifi when you aren't using it. You can also turn of GPS when you aren't using it as well. I just purchased some standard BP6X battereies from ebay and they work great. 12 bucks for two batteries and a charger. (from HK)

I just upgraded to a Droid from Eris because I was getting about 5 hours tops with it. It just started after I had the phone for a couple months with great battery life, so I purchased a new battery and it was still terrible.

In comparison, my Droid is going on 12 hours with moderate use and I'm at 60% still. I am just not use to such good equipment. Plus, the damn thing will charge from 15% to 100% in an hour. My Eris would take 10+ hours to get a green LED.

Good luck, whatever you try. Has this just started happening? How long have you had the phone and was it always that way? If not, I'd look through which apps you use now that are different and the widgets you may be using opposed to before. Probably wouldn't hurt to look into one of those new extended life batteries, too.

Wifi, bluetooth, and screen brightness are usually the biggest battery culprits. Gps will suck it down, but is only active while an appnis using it, so you can usually leave that on with out fear. As the above poster mentioned, turn off wifi and bluetooth when you aren't using them, and the auto brightness setting usually will keep your brightness in check a good ways. Also, make sure you're screen timeout is set at an aggressive level, like 15 or 30 sec

Yea. I never use wifi. Never have bluetooth on. Only use gps when I need to use google maps, and ny screen brightness is set right in the middle. My battery life hasnt change since day one. My friend also has a droid and he will usually get his to last almost all day. im lucky if I get half a days use out of it.

Check in your settings to see what is draining your battery besides the screen.
Go to Status/about phone/battery use. That'll let you know what is draining your battery. My top 3 is display, phone idle, and cell standby. Sometimes the browser and wi-fi make it up there too depending on how I use my phone. During the weekend, I can charge it Friday night and it'll be down to 30% by Sunday. Weekdays are different since I use it as a MP3 player through out the day. Even then, it's only down to 50% at the end of the day. Hope this helps...
