Bad News for Sense 5 update?

I have a hunch that Verizon announcing they will be carrying the HTC One is not going to be good news for any DNA users hoping to get a Sense 5 update soon. No way are they going to allow the DNA to get sense 5 before releasing the ONE to the masses.

I don't think it's that black and white. I have seen updates for several older models in the past couple of months, i.e. Droid Bionic.

Verizon's testing process takes what feels like forever. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sense 5 on the DNA by mid July, whether One is out or not.
My understanding is that the DNA hasn't been selling like hotcakes so a sense update won't change much except for pleasing current owners. Plus,
either phone Verizon sells will be cash in their pocket. I really do hope that Verizon really markets the HTC One well, I love their hardware and it would be a shame to see the company sink.

I think Verizon will neglect passing any perspective upgrades to the DNA and will instead fail them because they do not care about this phone anymore. The HTC One, based on raving reviews, and a massive buyer base will hold the attention of Verizon far better than the DNA ever did.

I am hoping that HTC will somehow provide us with a vanilla version of Android like what they are offering for the HTC One later this summer.

Hopefully with S-Off coming soon I won't have to care about Verizon giving me updates or not.

There is a post on here or on the DroidDNAforum. I don't remember which, but a Verizon rep said that there is a Sense 5 update coming for the DNA before the end of the summer. Who knows. They will need it for the new Butterfly 2 so it would not be too difficult to get it to the DNA. Just depends on if Verizon is feeling generous or not. This would not be the first time that Verizon left customers high and dry.

Perhaps the greatest day of my life was when the Thunderbolt got delayed again and I decided to upgrade from a Blackberry to a iPhone 4. Reading that people still have not even gotten basic upgrades to the phone from Verizon solidifies that feeling. Further, isn't the Thunderbolt the "Blunderbolt?"

Haha, a lot of people hated that thing. It wasn't a bad phone for me. I don't look back on it as fondly as I do my OG Droid, but it was a good phone. Pain in the *** and ugly unrooted, but it overclocked like a boss and had some sweet ROMs for it! I was tired of Verizon constantly telling us don't worry you'll get ICS eventually, that I just rooted it and gave myself ICS haha.

My point is your correct, they ARE the worst with updates. Makers need to bypass the carrier and let users download updates from the manufacturer's Web site
