Had an issue connecting to my computer and gear VR. Tried a factory reset and went through some steps with a Samsung rep. They told me take it to a repair center. They tried replacing the micro USB port. No luck. Ultimately, they determined the main board needs replacement which means Samsung will exchange the phone for me (still under warranty). I post this mostly because I didn't see any instances of this in a Google search. I figured it might help others who have this issue from wasting too much time trying to fix a problem they may not be able to fix.
Just so symptoms are clear, my S7 would not connect to my PC or my Gear VR, but it would charge at max speed, including fast charging (both of which are signaled by the data pins). That is all.
