Baffled By a Few Missing Features in Sense 3.5 on the Rezound...

OK, so I just purchased the Rezound. I'll start off by saying that the device is terrific. The screen is amazing and the build quality is what I've come to know and love from HTC. I just transferred from Sprint using the HTC Evo 4G. I'm a Sense enthusiast so it was only logicial for me to go with the Rezound. Soon after purchasing this phone, I was eager to get a chance to play with the new tweaks within 3.5.

Now to the confusing part... I'm completely baffled as to why there seems to be missing components within Sense 3.5. Where is the Mirror app, the Peep app, HTC Hub, etc? I will say that Peep is not a big issue seeing as how I used Plume (great app by the way) on my Evo, but why no Mirror (great app for us ladies)??? I would love to have HTC Hub! :( The Sense on the Rezound just seems like it's a water down version of what I have seen on my friends Sense phones on other networks. Is this due to Verizon picking and choosing what went into Sense for the Rezound? Or were these items left out by HTC? I don't want this to come off like I'm complaining about the phone or bashing the phone, because it is truly a top notch device, but I have never seen a difference between 2 current versions of Sense like I am seeing on the Rezound and other HTC devices running Sense 3.0+. I'm just really curious on anyone's thoughts or facts that they could possibly educate me on. I've tried Googling these types of questions concerning the Rezound and I was unable to find any concrete answers/input.

If you do a search for mirror, you will see the app. It's just not visible otherwise. At least this works for me. I read about it on another forum. Don't need it though, I'm a guy. LOL

I'm new to HTC so I'm not familiar with the other apps, but I'm sure that I saw Peeps someplace on my phone, just didn't know what it was.

I have Peep but it is not an app. I see it when I go to upload something. I cannot find mirror or hub!

How and were did you search?

I couldn't find a way to do a screen capture in 3.5 - no issues in 3.0.

Isn't there an easier way to screen capture. The power button is a pain.

Rezound is my first experience with HTC's Sense. I have a couple related questions after reading this.

1) What is Peep?

2) What is HTC Hub?

3) I've been playing with the Footprints app. I'm not really sure what the purpose is. Personally, I don't need to take pictures and log the coordinates and such. However, I have been using it to "pin" my local hangout spots. I think it's cool to know exactly how far am I from each place. My problem is that the distances are listed in kilometers. I couldn't figure out how to change from metric, so I googled the question and got some odd responses. Is it true you cannot change it? People around the web are saying this.

Thanks!

Thanks! I did a search and it popped up. Wish there was a dedicated icon in the app drawer for it , but I'll make a shortcut on the desktop with a third party app.

Just hit the search icon on the phone and type 'mirror' and it will pop up. On my Evo, there was an actual Peep app in the app drawer. I guess it can be accessed using the Twitter widgets now.

As the previous poster said... Peep is HTC's alternative app for using Twitter. It's somewhat limited compared to options that other Twitter apps in the market provide, but it's a cute little app.

HTC Hub is HTC's "library" of downloadable skins/themes, ringtone packages, etc. that can be downloaded to the device to customize it to more of your liking. YouTube 'HTC Hub' and you may come across some reviews that take a tour on how it works.

Footprints is a neat little app as well. I don't use it often, but when I travel I use it when I go someplace that is well known and I want to take a little snapshot. Like when I went to CA and went to Universal Studios... I snapped a little pic of the Universal Globe and logged it into Footprints. Corny, but cute, LOL. And I don't believe you can change from km to mi. I believe it may have to do with HTC being a Taiwanese company and they use kilometers in Taiwan. When I had my Evo, I used the battery widget and it used Celsius instead of Fahrenheit... and that would always annoy me. You would think they would give the option to change seeing as how they're selling their device in the US and we use miles and Fahrenheit. But oh well...

Mirror app can be done by using camera, and switching to the front camera, acts similar to the mirror app.

Hold power button + home button

I must have done it wrong. I tried that multiple times and couldn't get it to work. Tried it on the vivid which is 3.0 and it worked easily. Must have been me!
