I got tired of looking at the stock protector and I received this sample from Ballistic.
They claimed it works with the fingerprint sensor so I was curious. I have a Whitestone Dome ready to go but I figured I'd give this a shot first just to see how well it's put together.
I did install it and the install process is fairly easy no glues like the Whitestone. They provide a little install kit that snaps into the USB C port which lines everything up perfectly. I clean the screen but forgot to use the dust removal stickers so I think I got a couple of dust bunnies under the screen. The strange thing is where the fingerprint sensor goes you can see a round circle I'm not sure what the purpose of that is. at first I thought it was going to be a hole in the glass but it is not. why you can see a circle I don't know maybe it's extra adhesive or something. just a tiny bubble in the circle but I think that'll go away. I did reprogram the fingertips and it seems to be working fine. I'm not a hundred percent sure it's as good as the stock for that purpose but so far it's working. I'll give it a couple of days and post my final thoughts. 20190904_222004~2.jpeg20190904_221227~2.jpeg20190904_221242~2.jpeg20190904_222050~2.jpeg

I dont mess with those stick ons and curved screens, Full glued like Dome no issues

Here's a picture to show the circle. It's not as noticable as it appears. 20190904_224026.jpeg

It's curved and it looks like its full glue though I didn't touch it to make sure. I don't see a rainbow effect and it's the FPS is working. I'm not saying I prefer it over the Dome but I'm just providing an alternative and trying to be objective.

I got a screen protector that came with a case I ordered that had a circle where the fps was and I didn't bother to try it cause I thought it would look funny or annoying lol. I figured it was there to help people new to the under the screen fps to find it better. I know it would annoy me so it's not going on my screen. I did order a cheaper screen protector similar to whitestone dome called amfilm. It has the UV application too. It was $42.79 after tax from their website. It is a 2 pack. Free shipping and shipped Tuesday. Supposed to be here tomorrow or friday. Haven't tried it before. So I don't know if it will be good as whitestone dome but at least if I mess up on one I got another one to try.

Is that circle a cut out or a slightly thinner area so the FPS works better?

Not a cutout and it didn't feel thinner. It's not as noticble when using the phone. Noticable when it's off. I will probably switch over to the Whitestone Dome which is not that much more in price.

I've seen YouTube videos on other similar screen protectors and it's there to allow the fps to work better i.e thinner in that area.

It would affect my user experience which is why I use the Whitestone Dome.

Yeah go with the Dome Glass way better, been using Dome Glass Since S8 Lines and never had any issues, Plus theses phones are over 1,100 dollars so it's better to be safe and actually buy something that will keep your phone protected, all those other screen protectors are bad just saying, i rather spend the extra money to protect a expensive phone then buy those other cheap glass screen protectors.

I already have the Whitestone sitting in the box... I had to install the Ballistic in order to give it a fair review
