Band 12 support on 5X?

Did you get 6.0.1 yet? I think Band12 was enabled with that update according to this article.

How do you know you are on Band 12 or how do you switch on the phone's capability to connect to Band 12? I used the Signal Check check app and it always shows a B4 so I'm assuming that's for Band 4 correct?

First it may be beneficial to verify band 12 is available in your area. You can check the following map:

Map of T-Mobile's 700 MHz spectrum - Spectrum Gateway

Band 12 is not available everywhere.

Thank you that was very helpful, but unfortunately it does not look like there's any band 12 in my area, Chicago. Do you know of any reports when it will come to Chicago? It's a major city so I'm wondering what's the hold up.

Doesn't appear it will be arriving anytime soon as AT&T/Cricket holds the license in Chicago:
