Banners of 1st picture in each album.

So I upgraded an s23 to an a26. It doesn't really seem like a big upgrade, but that's besides the point.

One thing i noticed is that my photo albums all have banners of the first picture. That wasn't the case on my s23. I've gone through every option i can find, but i don't see a way to disable it. Any suggestions?

Welcome to Android Central! This is using the Samsung Gallery app, right? Tap the 3-dot menu button at the upper right, then Album Settings, then Change Cover Image.

Or are you saying that you want to get rid of the banner completely?

I want it gone. Seeing an image that takes up almost half the screen has no value to me. Expectation when i see the same image, but smaller, directly under it.

Oh, and this is the default gallery app.

Oh I see. The only Samsung device I have is a Tab S10+, and Samsung Gallery there isn't showing the banner, so it might just be a phone thing (or possibly a more recent One UI update that this tablet hasn't gotten yet). Let's see if @mustang7757 or others with an S26 can comment.

I don't see any way to delete that besides using different gallery like Google photos, it's a banner of your last picture unfortunately I can't see a way to delete
