bars and battery indicator - 2.21 vs 2.3.4

Call me suspicious but with original firmware and froyo I always had 1 or 2 bars at home and under gingerbread I always have 3. Can't believe this is not inflated; hardware was not upgraded.

Likewise, battery indicator seems to stay near 100% now but dives quickly once below about 70%. Also merely inflated? Must admit to better battery life, though.

Otherwise gingerbread is quicker and smoother - Yeah! Only complaint so far is with an occasional hang where homescreen icons never get redrawn and all buttons are unresponsive; must pull battery. Seems to be from an application hanging.

Hey there. The signal indicator went from having a total of 4 bars with froyo, to 5 with gingerbread. That would most likely explain why you are now seeing 3 bars instead of 2.

As far as the battery goes, the only thing I can comment on is that it is much better than before, even while using a third party launcher.
