OK... I screwed up initially by getting excited with my new Fascinate and I ROOTED it (without backing everything up first..) and removed a few things to clean it up... and it still works... Now I'm wanting to do the update to DI09 and need to go back to stock, so I downloaded Odin and the full DI01 package as per 'Adrynalyne?s Back to Stock'... BUT this time I'll ask the dumb questions first..!! Adrynalyne?s instructions say that you'll end up back in a bloated DI01 Fascinate... My questions are.. Will it still work?? Like remember it's phone number or do I need to re-initialize the phone with Verizon.. Can I pre-save my (paid-for) downloaded apps? How?? I'd rather be stuck with a working DI01 phone, than a useless DI09... I'm new to smart phones, and only one month into my two year contract, so if I have to, I'll wait another 22 1/2 months to experiment... and call this a lesson learned..!! Thanks, Dave ... I'm proof that you can't defeat a determined idiot!!!

Yes it will go back to Stock and you will be able to use it normally. It will have everything it had when you bought it. It may ask for you to activate but it will do it automatically so no worries there it happened to me a couple times and no issues whatsoever.

the phone will always remember its number. you will still have to setup the phone again, your email and prefrences and such. the market uses your email address to keep up with your paid apps. no need to wait 22 months to root. yes you will brick your phone once or twice but you can always flash back to stock or restore from a back up. if you have to send it for a warranty replacement make sure you falsh back to stock and you will be fine.

YaHOO!!! It DID in fact work as advertised... It took a little while to find download sites that were still viable, but once I got "DI01package3.tar.md5" and Odin3v1.3.exe all went smoothly... The OTA update to DI09 came off without a hitch... so color me happy (and relieved!!) Thanks all! Dave
