Hi guys,

I have recently updated to the new 4.4.4 EYE update and am really loving the new camera features. I have however noticed a change in my battery life with my Kernel (Android OS) and Android System taking a significant amount of battery life and I do seem to be getting worse battery life now as a result.

I just wanted to see if anyone is experiencing the same issue at all?

Cheers!

Mine was better until this morning when CM Backup updated, it dropped 10% in 5 minutes on a charger. Uninstall fixed it.

I noticed my battery worse after the 4.4.4 update too

After a few days of testing definitely seeing a considerable reduction in battery life, is anyone else experiencing it?

After I updated to 4.4.4. I cleared the cache in recovery mode... Maybe that could help?

What is ART runtime and how do I use it?
I have same battery drain with 4.4.4 update. Reset didn't help. So frustrating.

You need to enable developers's options to be able to switch between Dalvik and ART, they are runtimes that uses different approach to run the system. For detailed info. search the net for ( Dalvik Vs ART )

Here is how you should be able to enable developer's options on your M8.

Open M8 (Settings)
Scroll down to (About) and open it
Open (Software information)
Go to (More)
Start tapping on (Build Number)

Keep tapping on the Build number until you get a message that you are now a developer.

Now scroll back to the main Settings page, you should see a new set of options called Developer options.
