So I upgraded my phone to Kit Kat, then did an FDR. I also disabled Android Device Manager, but battery life is still not what is was with JB. I heard people say give it a couple of days to settle. Is this true, or should I expect this sort of performance now that I upgraded?

I did a factory reset after the update. It improves the battery life a ton. Mine averages 22 hours with 8 hours of screen on time usually.

It can take a week or two to settle down, my idle drain was 4% per 8 hrs pre KK, it was about 35% per 8hrs in the week following the updates, now it's back to 3-4%. If you just upgraded last week, I would wait another week or so before worrying about the increase in battery drain.

Edit: I did not do any FDR, just upgrade, reboot a few times over the week.

You could also put it into safe mode for a day or overnight to see if battery drain lessens or not. If it's less, then you know you have a rogue app that's not playing nice with the update.

Dumb question, how do I enter safe mode? I'm rooted, but have standard recovery. I opted out of TWRP this time.

So far I've done factory reset twice, and for location I have it set for battery saving. Any way to revert to Jelly Bean?

I just did this and it seems to make my phone run better and I hope it improves battery life thanks for posting that
