everything had been going fine with my EVO until this past weekend. all of a sudden i dont even seem to be able to make it thru the day on 1 charge. I have not updated anything, not downloaded or installed anything. I have a co-worker, with a different android phone (from T-Mob) who noticed the same thing with his phone. he said that he had not downloaded or installed anything new either. Anyone hear of anything that might have happened over the weekend to cause battery problems?

Go into settings and check battery usage, might need a new battery if you've had your evo awhile.

Mine started doing the same thing. Could just be the battery is getting old, but it has never not been able to make through the day with my usage, until now all of a sudden.

Mine was doing the same thing so I went into my settings and my "Enable Always-On Mobile Data" setting was checked. Dont know how that happened to mine, but it's something to look at!

If you got your EVO shortly after release then its probably just your battery showing its age. I recently replaced mine and it helped significantly.

That was my problem. I don't now how it got checked, but it sure was draining my battery. Unchecked it and battery life is back to normal, anyone else who has noticed decreased battery life might check that.

you might lose instant push Gmail and other push notifications if you uncheck that. also streaming radio may also stop after X minutes.

perhaps you have some app(s) (Facebook? Twitter?) doing some heavy duty data syncing going on in the background. did you add more friends/followers recently? more updates? who knows but i would find the culprit before i neutered push. unchecking background data simply neuters your phone's ability to background sync. my launch day EVO's "always on data" is checked and my battery is fine 11+ hours of heavy usage - but i don't have a lot of background syncing other than 2 Gmail accounts and HTC Weather Widget - but that's all that's important to me. not FB or Twitter etc. i need instant PUSH on Gmail and will not give that up nor do i need to.

IMO - check who's using your toilets before you start ripping the plumbing out.

good luck.
