Being extremely happy with my X 2014, there was one thing missing

Battery autonomy

Decided to try the X Play, considering its very very big battery capacity
I am now using the X Play with the Sim in, while I have the X 2014 without a Sim card just at my desk.
Both phones have been out of a charger for the last 36 hrs.

The X 2014 has 42% of battery left, with no air time and only 8 minutes of SOT. Its available RAM is at 816 MB.
The X play has 41% of battery left, with 60 mins calls and 2.5 hrs of SOT. Its available RAM is surprisingly enough at 973 MB

The battery difference is very clear between the phones, with the X Play being absolute king here. What I find intruiging is the memory difference, considering both phone have exactly the same apps installed. It seems that again, X Play manages its RAM better than its "father" the X 2014...

Display, eh?

OK.

Moto X Play (pluses)
Bigger screen
Brighter, very very brighter screen, easy to see even under direct sunlight

Moto X 2014 (pluses)
Truer color reproduction
AMOLED technology means notifications do not light up the whole screen

OK.

Battery. Moto X Play is the ABSOLUTE King. I charge it every second day, while the Moto X 2014, I needed to charge every single day, even midday depending on its use. The Moto X Play is amazing in the battery department, and my best pure or almost pure android phone EVER.

Performance. Moto X 2014 operates very very smoothly. Stutters and lags are a very very rare occurence on this phone. Very happy with it. The Moto X play suffers from stutters and lags. Am I happy with it? No. Is it something that bothers me so much that I cannot stand the phone? Hell no. It is slightly bothersome, but the fact is that all apps operate without a problem, even when multiple apps are open simultaneously. The stuttering occurs, when sliding an app to the side and is immediately visible.

OS. Moto X 2014 runs on 5.1, Moto X Play runs on 5.1.1. Both will receive an upgrade to M. When? Only God and Motorola knows :)

All in all, for my usage and needs the Moto X Play wins hands down. Very big, very bright screen, excellent battery autonomy, these are the things I was actually missing from my X 2014. And I have found them at the Moto X Play. It is NOT a flagship phone, it is a very very good middle class phone, and I love it
