battery changed on nexus 7 but still wont charge or come on

I was losing battery power even when charging so changed the battery. I cant turn the nexus on so don't know if it is charging or not.
tried holding volume button and power on /off button but nothing happens, please can anyone help me before I launch it across the room

well, there might be two reason one might be there may be some problem with the charger or your battery might be worn out !! But still I would stress you on checking the charger try pulgging it to another charger.

its a new battery and the charger works as I have used it this morning on my phone

well, in this case i think you need to go to the nearest dealer, it looks like the problem is in the hardware their is a charging IC inside the device, it might been worn out.

really... are they expensive to buy and fit?

ok I have a couple of friends that maybe able to help me out. Don't want to spend too much money on it as I can get a new one for ?179 and have already spend ?26

Are you using the charger and cable that came with the Nexus 7? Phone chargers do not put out enough Amps to charge the Nexus 7 in a reasonable amount of time.
