i am in a great dilemma concerning this now. So basically, when my battery on my nexus 10 reach about 12% i plug it in the ac and within 6 hours its completely filled. Last night i plugged it in same thing, but instead of being completely charged, it was at only 48%. is my nexus 10 battery failing or something? So maybe this could have been the source of the problem, i had a 720p video running on mx player in the background.

Basically, what is the normal amount of charging hours and what is the battery life when fully charged?

Thanks so much

I have a Nexus 7 so I'm not entirely helping your situation, but maybe I can shed some light. My tablet fully charges after only 2-3 hours if I'm using the charger it came with. Regardless of what the screen says, the real test is how long it lasts now as compared to before. I've heard of software glitches that will show an incorrect battery meter, so check to see if you've lost 52% of your typical battery life. To answer your last question, the battery should show 100%, but more importantly, when it's fully charged, the screen will say "Charged" instead of "Charging: XX%"

If you notice a huge drop in how long the Nexus 10 lasts, you might have a defective battery. If it's under warranty, send it back.

Yes, that is the problem. Mine only takes a few hours when plugged in and turned off. I can use mine for a couple of hours for several days before needing a charge but it really depends on what you are doing with it.

To charge fully from near empty? No. The N10 takes something like 6 hours, using the OEM USB charger. On or off, it doesn't matter, as long as "on" means screen is off and it is idle. If you have the screen ON and it is not idle, charging will take even longer.

Yep- matters greatly. Some games (even just seemingly non-intense ones, like Candy Crush or Bubble Worlds) will just eat the battery- and the glass on mine can get really hot in one spot after 30 or 45 minutes of that. Others, not so much. Web browsing and reading don't tax it much.

Yeah but why would the defect appear more than one month after using...? Thanks though, btw I had sorta same problem with my nexus 7 before I sold it. Charging hours were fine, then suddenly increase to a lot more with no reason
