Battery charging status question....all of a sudden 100%

So its happened a couple of times now, i'm charging my battery and i decide to restart the phone. the battery is at 80 some-odd percent, then i power the phone off. When i reboot the phoen (with the cord attached the whole time) the battery now reads 100%. i only had the phone off long enough for it to power down and then reboot. anyone have an explanation for this...is the battery really at 100% when the phone comes back on, or was it not at 80 some-odd percent before i turned it off?

Take it off the charger and wait and see how fast it drops.. I doubt it went from 80% to a full 100% in the time it took to reboot. Probably just thinks it's got full power. I have read where they said to leave it on the charger after it reaches 100% or the light turns green for at least 1/2 an hour to insure you have a full charge....

I have seen this behavior too, gonna have to try Robbie's test and see what happens
