Battery dies - blue LED light

I’ve noticed when my phone dies, a blue LED light stays lit up until I charge or replace the battery. I don’t think this used to happen, but I may have just noticed. Any idea?

Thanks,

I think the blue LED comes on when rebooting or shutting down the device, which is what happens when your battery 'dies'...maybe your phone is getting 'stuck' at powerdown. I can confirm that in mine that doesn't happen (T-Mobile, recently updated to Lollipop).

Hmmm.. I wonder why? Mine is AT&T and running Lollipop.

The LED light has changed since Lollipop, you can't control it as much as you used to be able to.

It used to turn red when the battery was low and the screen off. I haven't noticed what it does now though.

My Note 4 has Lollipop and when it just now hit 15%, it gave the low battery warning and the light began flashing red.

Ya i was also gonna ask if there is a setting somewhere to control led light :(

Nope.. Now you can only turn it off or on.

The LED light and the alarm clock are two things I have noticed they limited features on with Lollipop.

There are apps in the play store that you can download to control the color for different notifications.

I installed one on my Nexus 4 and set it for one color for emails, one for certain notifications and so on. I haven't bothered with it on my Note 4 yet.

That's amazing! I'll search for one, it will be cool to play a little with led color :D

Yeah there is one called light flow or something. In the last few years, it caused a lot of problems with other things. We started seeing issues in Gingerbread, then ICS. I haven't seen the app talked about much in the last year, so that is probably an indication the developer got something corrected on it.

See, these are some of the things people talk about when the say they can customize more on Android. The one that I have is called Lite Flow. It works today on my Nexus 4 with Lollipop 5.1.

Thank you! Lightflow is GREAT, i now control my apps color but i have a question; it says that i have additional leds as u see in the screenshot. Do u have any idea what r these leds i thought there 's only one led!

I'm not sure. There is only one LED light that I am aware of.

I believe the selections are to control the various colors of the one LED, i.e., led_b = blue, led_g = green, led_r = red, led_w = white, etc.

back to the original issue that the op mentioned, I've noticed this issue as well, but it doesn't pose as too much of a hinderance to my daily usage, but, it ONLY happens when the phone dies (drops to 0% while in use), the blue LED would stay lit right up until you charge it or pull the battery.

I've noticed it on both mine, and my wife's Note 4 with AT&T since the lollipop update. for my note edge, I haven't noticed it, and that's due to me using it less because of some of the changes that have been done since the update.
