Battery discharges quickly than charging

My note 2 takes a whole 7 hours to charge and discharges in less than 3 hours

Sounds like a battery issue to me.

Actually I'm not using the stock charger.... I'm using another charger with 0.5 a ...... Could this be causing the problem..?

Almost definitely. The note 2 stock charger is a 2A one, which is usually reserved for tablets. Use a stock charger.

It could be the problem. Use the original one because that low current is charging your phone real slow.

It's more then the charger though. It'll take longer to charge because of the low current output however that shouldn't make any difference to the discharge time.
