Battery Drain - Faulty SD card ?

Probably a daft question but could a faulty SD card cause erratic battery drain ? Some days battery is very good, other days not so good, with similar usage. The reason I ask is, my SD card has been playing up with corrupt files etc. and was wondering if that could cause battery drain ?

That certainly could contribute. Corrupt media files can cause the system's Media Scanner to get stuck, which increases CPU usage and battery drain. Try using a different SD card.
